Ethical, Legal, & Social Implications (ELSI) Affinity Group

Over the past several years, a growing number of scholars have identified their work within the rubric of the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) Program sponsored by the National Human Genomic Research Institute (NHGRI) at NIH. This extramural funding program, which began nearly two decades ago, has committed over $18 million dollars annually to the study of the ethical, legal and social implications of emerging genomic technologies and the development of policies that will ensure that the public investment in human genetic research and its translation into improved healthcare will benefit all individuals and groups.
